“The truth about being a porn star”, an article for Gonzoo

The good news is that I started writing for the magazine Gonzoo, with a first article called “The truth about being a porn star”.

In it I talk about my problems in finding interesting people and how I have become extremely demanding when it comes to meet new people. Being a sex worker often makes the social stigma difficult to handle and I find myself in situations of frustration and unlimited hate. Defeating the conventionalism and rise up against the system sometimes can be very, very tiring.

The bad news is that reading the comments, made me want to hit myself with a frying pan in the head and go back to the Stone Age before answering. Mother of God, where do these people come from?! I leave here a fragment of the text and some of the comments that will make your eyes bleed, but remember that if you want to read the whole article in Spanish or reply to this gibberish, you can do it through their website.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and I’m proud to be a sex worker, but I’m tired of the looks of surprise, open jaws, weird looks and “oh” followed by occasional awkward silence. Not to mention that for most people my profession is full of stereotypes, usually erroneous and quite harmful. In my experience, the date may go in two types of conversations: endless questions about the intricacies of the industry (the dicks of the male performers are as big as they look? Do they use Viagra? How can they last so long without cumming?) or getting the feeling you have become a sex therapist (My last girlfriend didn’t came with penetration. How can I make a girl squirt? I don’t know if I can please a woman because my penis is bent at an obtuse angle of 23 degrees). One out of ten times I have to deal with paternalist attitudes, the kind of “You got into porn because you haven’t found anyone who really loves you.

Because I don’t want to lie but I also don’t want to face the stigma, I rather stay home cultivating orchids and feeding the cats in the neighborhood. I have become lazy when it comes to find people who share fun moments with. Read sex. Read an afternoon at the movies eating popcorn. Read an interesting conversation commenting paintings in a gallery.
[Keep reading in Spanish…]

  2. I found this absolutely appalling! So many people are brainwashed by what is right, what is wrong, what is or is not beautiful. The media made it this way and in turn as to why childish adults like that have nothing positive to say. I personally think adult film is the greatest form of ART. The human body is art.

Even now after so many years of “scholarly evolution” it remains such a taboo to know about our own bodies. We are taught from the beginning to be ashamed of it, when truly it is the foundation of where all beauty lies. Amarna you are truly beautiful! I have the highest respect and regard for your work. Don’t let these closed minded assholes get to you!

    p.s. Have a great day!

    XOXO
