A couple of years ago I decided to go one month to Berlin to enjoy a well deserved holiday. I had saved some money so I left Madrid and I threw myself into the adventure.
What I discovered in the city was an absolutely inspiring environment. When I realized, I was posing for a few photographers in the area, including Jo Schwab.
His portraits captivated me from the first moment. In each picture he had the ability to take the soul of the person and expose it to the public. Girls and boys of all races, fitness and appearance passed one after another in front of his lens. And he, taking literally ten photos, get really shocking images.
So I went to his studio, and I met him. A big house with white walls and wooden floors. On the wall of the hall you could read “ich liebe dich” , the letters created with black tape.
The study was in the second room on the right, a grayish background with a window on the left side which provided a fantastic natural light, completely homogeneous .
Jo fell in love with my dress, so the first photos were with it. He asked me to leave my hair as I had it (then it was dyed blue, green and violet ), in a bun on top of my head.
Now naked, we started testing poses, but none convinced us. We seek for some atrezzo and we tried a couple of necklaces, but nothing… And then, at the bottom of a box, we found a lemon and cherry lollipop, and we made the picture. No just a picture. THE picture. Here you have it:
While I was on my way home, I ate the entire lolly, waiting to see the results.
And a few months later, Jo post these two photos on his website. Probably one of the best that I have.
I hope you like them 🙂
